The National Centre for Laboratory Research and Risk Assessment authorized as a national reference laboratory
On February 28.02.2024, Regional Minister Madis Kallas authorised LABRIS to act as a national reference laboratory in 12 areas.
LABRIS is designated as the European Union reference laboratory for the following:
1) reference laboratory for zoonoses (Salmonella);
2) reference laboratory for Listeria monocytogenes;
3) reference laboratory for coagulase-positive staphylococci including Staphylococcus aureus;
4) reference laboratory for Escherichia coli;
5) reference laboratory for Campylobacter;
6) reference laboratory for parasites, especially Trichinella and Anisakidae;
7) reference laboratory for antimicrobial resistance;
8) reference laboratory for transmissible spongiform encephalopathies;
9) reference laboratory for metals and nitrogen compounds in food;
10) reference laboratory for residues of veterinary medicines in animal-origin food;
11) reference laboratory for mycotoxins;
12) reference laboratory for pesticide residues.
The authorization to act as a national reference laboratory is granted indefinitely.
